The world’s first service club was the Chicago Rotary Club, founded in 1905. Because the founders met in turn, i.e. "in rotation", at a member’s home, they adopted the name of Rotary. Today the Rotary Club is the most international of all service clubs. It is an association of representatives from the world of business, administration and the professions making a willing commitment to others, as a worldwide act of service.
